What is this?

Many pieces exist in several editions: the plain choir version, the same one with piano accompaniment, a piano part on its own, perhaps a version a tone lower. Instead of putting each of them into the shop as its own title, you add them as versions of one title.

For buyers it looks like this: one entry in their sheet music list, and when they open it they pick at the top which version they want to see. All versions are included in the price.

How to add another version

  1. Open "My sheet music" and pick the title.
  2. Click "Edit title".
  3. Scroll to the "Versions" section and click "Version".
  4. Give the version a name your buyers will understand — for example "Choir with piano" or "Piano only".
  5. Choose the PDF file and click "Upload version".

The new version is immediately visible to everyone who already bought the title. Their personal watermarked copies are created in the background.

Setting the default version

The default version is the one that opens first — and the one the shop preview is made from. Click "Set as default" on the version you want. The preview is then regenerated automatically.

Changing or removing a version

  • Rename — change the name in the input field, then click somewhere else. The new name is saved right away.
  • Replace PDF — choose a new file. All buyers then receive the new file with their personal watermark.
  • Delete — removes the version along with the personal copies and markings buyers have for it. This cannot be undone.

Who may do what?

  • Add and rename a version — editor role and above
  • Replace the PDF, change the default version, delete a version — admin role only

Tips

  • Use names conductors immediately understand: "Choir", "Choir with piano", "Piano only", "One tone lower".
  • Make the version that matters most to buyers the default — usually the plain choir version.
  • Make sure all versions belong to the same work. For a different work or an arrangement that should be sold on its own, create a separate title.

Frequently asked questions

Do the versions cost extra?
No. All versions belong to the same title and are sold together. Whoever buys the title gets every version — the price stays the price of the title.
Which version do buyers see first?
The default version. It opens first and also provides the preview in the sheet music shop. You decide which one that is and can change it any time.
Do buyers get their personal watermark on the other versions too?
Yes. Every version is marked individually for every buyer with choir name and licence ID. This happens automatically in the background as soon as you upload the version.
What happens to markings when I replace a version?
The markings singers make belong to the version they made them in. If you replace the file of a version, its markings stay; if you delete a version, its markings go with it.
Can I delete the last version?
Not while the title is active in the shop — a sold title would be left without music. Upload a new version first or set the title to inactive.
